It Designer Contest

May 16, 2008 – 5:45 pm

A leading publisher of user-generated fashion content - just announced their latest online contest designed to discover and showcase emerging talent.

Their It Designer Contest will be judged by:

Project Runway alum Malan Breton; the former Editor-in-Chief of Life & Style Sheryl Berk; C Magazine Executive Editor, Nathan Cooper; designer Keith Lissner; and MyItThings Editor-in-Chief and Co-Founder, Yuli Ziv.

Through July 15, designers can submit five previously-created looks, and site users will then vote for their top 10 fave designers. The overall winner will be determined by a combined vote of 50% by the judges and 50% by the community.

The three finalists will each receive $1500 toward their Spring 2009 collection and a New York runway show in October to show off their designs, while the grand prize winner will receive $5000 and an exclusive collection on MyItThings.com.

“The contest offers great exposure for new and emerging designers — especially students and graduates,” says Ziv. “MyItThings.com’s social platform provides them with a unique chance to get immediate feedback on their designs from the site’s community of trendsetters, tastemakers and fashionistas.”
